The Ghostly Bride of Waterworks Valley: A famous local legend tells of a woman who waited at St. Lawrence Church for a groom who never arrived. Heartbroken, she took her own life. They are described as spirits bound to the path they walked in life.The "Vioge" of Crack Ankle Lane: Near St. Lawrence, in St. Peter's Valley, a steep path known as Crack Ankle Lane is allegedly inhabited by a creature called the "Vioge," described as an emaciated, scarecrow-like monster that dragged people to its lair.Haunted Lanes: The narrow lanes around St. Lawrence are frequently described as having an eerie atmosphere, forming the basis for guided "ghost walks" that explore these stories.
