Stabbing clarification

It is a bit long, but at least is broken up with singing and dancing and poetry. The controversial video was in verse, and it seems that four-line stanza ABAB rhyming scheme iambic verse may not be the best medium for serious debate about knife-fighting technique - who knew? The verse I wrote dealt with one specific situation, and no other: two men duelling with knives or daggers, able to choose their exact design of knife or dagger, and wearing no armour. My poem made one main simple point: in such a situation, I'd choose a shorter cutty/choppy knife and would hold it point up (most of the time) rather than a long thin rondel held point down. Right at the end I conceded that I might not. Along the way, I pointed out certain disadvantages of 'ice-pick grip' and rondels. Something I meant to say in this VERY long video, but didn't, was about this stanza in the verse: "I learned my knife fighting with a dagger like this, It's shorter and fatter and cutty, A foe using this [shows rondel to camera] is just taking the piss, Against me with this he'd surely be putty." The poem was designed to be entertaining, and funny. At this stage in the poem, I am still setting up the situation, and not yet drawing conclusions, and I am describing my own daft prejudices. I am the butt of this joke. When I, in-character, say "Against me with this he'd surely be putty" I am showing myself to be over-blown and pompous. It helps the humour of what comes later to make myself the figure of fun by puffing myself up. This isn't a 'ha-ha' joke exactly, but it is a mildly amusing set-up which helps what comes later. Some people, however, seems to have understood that what I was saying was that in all seriousness I consider myself a stupendous knife-fighter who could easily beat anyone who was foolish enough to choose to use a rondel against me. People familiar with my video output should know that I do not take myself anywhere near this seriously, and I hope that my burst of very bad contemporary dance in this video serves to reinforce this understanding. History, archaeology, book-learning, eastern martial arts, western martial arts, re-enactment, thought experiments, speculation - these all contribute to the debate we are having, and I would not want anyone to think that I would throw out anything suggested by one of these sources just because of its source. I've had no complaints from kung-fu people, possibly because kung-fu people don't watch my videos, but also perhaps because the kung-fu knife (the one I show the camera when talking about kung-fu) seems to 'win' the fight in the poem.
