Stage - A Culinary Internship (2019)
A group of interns during a nine month apprenticeship at one of the best restaurants in the world, Mugaritz. While the restaurant's notorious avant-garde cuisine and creative working environment elevates these young hopefuls to think outside the confines of a kitchen; ultimately, not everyone can handle the heat.
"Staging the culinary internship" refers to
arranging and completing a
culinary stage, which is an unpaid apprenticeship in a professional kitchen. Unlike a standard internship, which is often for credit and can be paid, a stage is typically a shorter, unpaid period of intensive, hands-on learning at a high-end restaurant. The process involves researching potential kitchens, contacting the chef directly, and being prepared to prove your work ethic and dedication once accepted.
