Stance Styles | Foil Fencing Tutorial
Yo! Happy New Year! Sorry for the long hiatus. We hope to get back to a more regular posting schedule once Olympic qualifiers are over and Eli has a little more time. Anyway, in this video we cover different types of en garde style. It's important to remember that fencing is freedom! You can do anything that you want or imagine to get the touch, as long as it's purpose-driven. That being said, different stances lend themselves to different types of hits, and each come with their own benefits and costs. Remember, the economy of motion pervades fencing. Here we include examples from the recent 2020 CIP https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3FmnK1Gm_SY&t and 2019 Euros in Dussedorf, Germany https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1w_geH2PajM&t Shoutout to our boy, Nick Itkin (aka, the People's Champ™) for his first gold at the 2020 CIP, and his (and our) coach, Misha Itkin on their well-deserved success. Hope to see you all next time. /////// Special Thanks /////// Special thanks to Radical Fencing, Carmimari, and CyrusofChaos for supporting the channel, as well as those who have contributed to our Patreon and Gofundme (links below).
