Moving and handling - transfers @Kirklees Council Moving & Handling Team. The Standing Hoist (Powered Standaid) is used for those who required excessive assistance to get into standing, and then are unable to walk or 'step around' to transfer. Use of this device requires the person to be able to follow instructions and maintain a reliable and consistent stand once stood. The distance of travel and how long the person is able to stand for must form part of the risk assessment.
