Standing with the Truth
In this episode, I’m thinking through what it really means when people disagree, especially in spiritual matters. Disagreement itself is not always a bad thing. Sometimes it is exactly what pushes us back to the Bible, helps us see something we missed, and gives us an opportunity to grow. But not all disagreement is equal. There is a big difference between someone opening Scripture and reasoning carefully, and someone simply saying, “I disagree,” as if emotion settles truth. I want to talk about why honest disagreement requires humility, evidence, and a willingness to be corrected. God’s word must be the standard, not tradition, preference, confidence, or the pressure of what others may think. Truth should not be feared, even when it costs us something, because truth leads us toward God, not away from Him. We will also consider the spirit we bring into disagreement. It is possible to be right in conclusion and wrong in attitude. If we belong to Christ, our disagreements should be handled with patience, care, courage, and brotherly love. The goal is not to win an argument. The goal is to stand where God stands.
