You know -- when we were kids,
we used to look up at the night sky and make wishes.
Didn’t matter who we were or where we lived,
we all believed that little rhyme.
“Starlight, starbright…”
Back then, our wishes were simple.
A new toy, a good day, someone to love us.
But somewhere along the way,
the world got complicated.
And now, there are children tonight,
standing under that same sky
making a very different wish.
They’re not wishing for toys.
They’re wishing for the bombs to stop.
For their fathers to come home.
For tomorrow to come at all.
This song is for them.
and maybe, just maybe,
it’s a wish we can all make together.
