Static Spine and why it matters. One of the first steps when choosing arrows for your new bow is selecting the correct static spine. Static spine affects how your arrows actually leave the bow. Too much flex you get erratic arrow flight, too little flex you get the same.
Will you ever get it perfect, most likely no, but you can get it close and save yourself a lot of frustration when shooting. When purchasing any arrows make sure you research this part before spending your hard-earned money.
Static spine is measured one of two ways. An arrow suspended over two points, either 26 or 28 inches apart, and by using either a 1.94 lb. or 2 lb. weight to cause deflection. The deflection is measured giving you the spine weight of the arrow.
Wishing you all the best with your next arrow build.
