How to figure out what each Deep Miner Region is This video will cover how you can figure out roughly where you are on the map motherboard as well as figure out what each region is. As of this video, all we have are coordinates from the tracker or deep miner cartridge, the map, and essentially however much experience you have in reading a map. First half of the video goes over the methology and critical information you need. The last half is jump cuts of me going around Vulcan to different regions that I was trying to figure out what they were and some detail over why I was certain they were the region that they were. If you don't particularly care to do this on your own or want a link to an online map, here is a link. Link to Online Map: https://aproposmath.github.io/stationeers-deepmining-map/ Main Information -Tracker and Deep Miner Cartridge give your X and Z coordinates. -Map motherboard has the Left-Right be X and Up and Down be Z. Left is Negative X and down is negative Z. -0 degrees on your compass is -Z, 90 is -X, 180 is +Z, and 270 is +X -Each Region Color corresponds to one of 11 possible Ore profiles -The topography map (if you know how to read one) is helpful for finding peaks, valleys, and other terrain features that can help you narrow down where you are when combined with the coordinate data. Methology Get some support items like the rover, jetpack canisters, spare air, building materials. Ideally map out in the daytime or go out after the last storm or have a storm warning system to let you know to return. What I did was print a large cardboard box and filled it with seeds because you can rename them... so long as it is an item that can be renamed, you would need up to 11 of them. -First figure out where you are, using coordinates and topography or travel to a spot that is more obvious to find where you are. -Take note of what that colored region equates to ore profile. -Travel to a new region, using coordinates, topography, and/or previously discovered region data to know what the new region type is. Once you know what all the region colors are and what type of ore exists, you can make a legend at your base and use this information to better plan where you want to go to plop deep miners to mine specific ores or combinations of ores.
