Frontman for Colorado's renowned newgrass ensemble, Wood Belly, Weist's solo acoustic journey transcends the boundaries of bluegrass, ushering in a tapestry of fresh and diverse musical narratives. Weist found music at an early age, fostering his sense of rhythm on drums at nine and later discovering guitar as a teenager. Life as a ski bum cultivated a deep connection with nature, ultimately leading him to bluegrass and the mandolin. In 2013 Chris walked from Georgia to Maine on the Appalachian Trail with a mandolin on his back. The journey proved invaluable as it laid the foundation of rich lyrical form and created an inflection point from which his timeless voice and writing was born.
