Sragi mill 600mm gauge. Loco manufacturers: Krauss, BMAG, Hartman & Henschel Most Java sugar mill stream locos are designated as tank engines but run with a tender. This is because the fuel frequently used is bagass, the dried residue after the sugar has been extracted from the cane. This has a low calorific value so large quantities must be carried to keep the loco in steam for a shift. The wood burning locos have a similar but no so serious problem. The children Attempting to march to the lad blowing the whistle are practising for the independence day parade that was to be held in a few day. De-derailments are frequent but staff get plenty of practice so the wagons are soon back on the track.
