Designed and built in 1953 by Waldo M. Claflin of Huntington, NY, she originally was a motor launch and carried the name "Anoatok Queen". In 2002 she was converted to a steam launch by Daniel A. Lyons of Seattle, Washington and re-named "Alien Queen". Power is supplied from a vertical propane fueled firetube boiler supplying steam to a single cylinder vertical engine driving a three bladed screw. Water is supplied via a hotwell tank fed with water condensed from steam exhausted from the engine and returned to a liquid state using a copper heat exchanger on the port side of the underwater hull, making it essentially a closed cycle system.
