STEM vs STEAM

Nowadays there are a lot of acronyms being thrown around when it comes to the education system. The two most common are STEM and STEAM. Many schools have adopted either a STEM or STEAM mindset and are transitioning into STEM or STEAM curriculums. However, many parents and even educators are still confused about STEM vs STEAM. Which leads them to question the difference between the two acronyms, as well as ask the question “which one is better?” That debate is getting pretty controversial. Each “team” has their compelling reasons of whether the acronym STEM or STEAM should be used. This article will cover the main reasons why each side chose their acronym and my personal take on them.
