Stevens Model 15-A
SEASON ONE: The Stevens Model 15-A is a bolt action single shot .22 rimfire rifle that was a very successful “boy’s rifle” due to its simple and rugged design. Produced from 1948 to 1965 (this example is a 1952 model) it is an improved version of the original Stevens/Springfield Model 15 which was produced from 1936 to 1948 (both under an assumed business name of Savage Arms) in Chicopee Falls Massachusetts. You can see each of these original older versions by clicking on the links below to season two and season three. They are siblings that share a bolt! One difference to tell the 15A from it's earlier siblings is it's 24'' barrel as opposed to the 22'' barrel on the Model 15. Able to chamber short, long, or long rifle ammo it is a great plinker and will serve faithfully for years to come. Its accurate. It’s reliable. It’s rimfire. It’s a Savage. Need I say more? This rifle is part of a three rifle collection we have here at the Milsurp Garage. If you have an interest in the history and design details of these I suggest checking out all three videos....here are the links to all three.
