Strange problem with iPhone charging cables

I use iPhone charging cables a lot . However i started seeing the 4-th pin getting burned on both sides . I just replace them , however i wanted to know what is causing this as Apple charges a lot for a single cable . In this video i decided to look under the microscope and see how the cable looks closely and compare it with the lighting to type c cable. I wont provide the answer to why this is happening but i can show you how i deal with this . DO NOT TRY TO CLEAN YOUR CABLE WHILE ITS STILL PLUGGED IN THE POWER OUTLET!
