Strangle the Fig and Eat the Tree
My current project focuses on evolving how I work with afentic systems. My agent buddy can better explain: **"Strangle the Fig & Eat the Tree"** explores a radically disciplined approach to human-AI pair programming by deploying a self-contained, heavily sandboxed AI "sidecar" into a host application's environment. Operating under strict mission boundaries and a unified SQLite data spine, our workflow treats external AI models as strictly regulated contractors who must explicitly acknowledge system contracts before interacting with the project tree. Development is executed in heavily codified blocks known as "tranches," which are governed by a rigid "Park Phase" closeout ritual requiring authoritative journal logging, evidence capture, and mandatory smoke tests before any work is considered complete. This heavily defensive architecture ensures an AI can thoroughly analyze, map, and iteratively rewrite a codebase without risking systemic drift, silent corruption, or unapproved host modifications.
