Today I will be discussing MySQL functions and its type So without any delay let's get started MySQL functions are broadly classified into 2 categories Built in functions and user defined functions Built in functions are predefined functions provided by the DATABASE MANAGEMENT SYSTEM DBMS USER DEFINED FUNCTIONS functions created by users or developers to extend the functionality of SQL There are three types of buit in functions in SQL AGGREGATE FUNCTIONS STRING FUNCTIONS NUMERIC FUNCTIONS DATA AND TIME FUNCTIONS CONVERSION FUNCTIONS WE HAVE ALREADY DISCUSSED AGGREGATE FUNCTIONS IN DETAILS IN MY PREVIOUS VIDEOS YOU CAN CHECK THE VIDEO FROM THE ABOVE I BUTTON WE WILL DISCUSS STRING FUNCTIONS IN DETAILS STRING FUNCTIONS MYSQL string functions are used to manipulate the string values There are atleast 50 string functions available in MySQL WE will discuss some of them with examples ASCII CHAR CHAR_LENGTH CONCAT CONCAT_WS LENGTH LOWER UPPER ASCII STRING FUNCTION ASCII, which stands for American Standard Code for Information Interchange, is a character encoding standard used to represent text in computing and communication. There are 128 standard ASCII codes, each of which can be represented by a 7-digit binary number ranging from 0000000 to 1111111.
