After several felony charges, Nigel was at risk of being incarcerated as a 16 year old in Chicago. Working with Precious Blood Ministries, he was given an alternative sentence to sail the high seas instead.
Nigel is a graduate of the winter 2015 SailFuture Odyssey program and his story provides a unique insight into what it's like to grow up in the back of the yards neighborhood of southside Chicago, one of the toughest neighborhoods in America.
