This old field maple has been sitting in my garden for a long time. It has an excellent Nebari and slowly the trunks are starting to set.
How do you go about pruning a maple for initial styling (Not just a field maple but also others such as Japanese maple). Wiring a maple bonsai and carving deadwood to close big cuts on a maple bonsai.
After a few weeks the tree is growing again and can be pruned and wire removed. Several weeks later the tree is full of health and starting life as a bonsai.
