Sub-Base Generator Tank Repairs
In this video, CommTank demonstrates the process of leak detection and repair on a generator sub-base tank. Our team used advanced tools and techniques to locate and fix multiple leaks in a hard-to-access sub-base tank located beneath a generator. Project Overview: • Disconnected the generator from the sub-base tank • Pressurized the tank’s interstitial space using nitrogen gas (3 PSI) • Monitored tank interior with a multi-angle camera system • Located multiple floor leaks, cracks, and pinholes • Accessed the tank by removing flooring and cutting into the containment basin • Welded all leak points and pinholes • Resealed and repainted the tank and basin to prevent corrosion • Re-pressurized the system for 24 hours to confirm successful repair Sub-base generator tanks are difficult to access and require expert inspection methods. With pressurized testing and visual inspection tools, CommTank accurately located the source of leaks and ensured long-term system integrity.
