Subterranean Study Part 1 contains the first two acts of the project.
Act I: Discovery (0:00 - 2:50) This act is meant to represent the first steps into the cavern.
Act II: Aquatic (2:51 - 5:27) This act is meant to represent the dive into the large body of water within the cavern.
This project is meant to be metaphorical of self discovery and the uncertainty and excitement of harrowing that journey. I'd love to hear what you all take from it though, regardless of what that may be!
This was initially intended to be something more jungle leaning, with a bit of a faster and more abrasive feel, but after about half an hour into the project I realized that was not where my brain was taking me. I think it's valuable to be able to stay true to a concept you have in your head, but I think it's equally as valuable to let the sounds guide you into something slightly different, or even something else entirely. This process is, in my opinion, one of the reasons why writing music feels so fulfilling.
