Sunflower Swarm

This video is about Sunflower Swarm We caught a swarm 24 ft up on a tree limb. The swarm had built comb out in the open. They looked to have been there one brood cycle. We placed it in a box and because of some equipment issues we did not close it up. And they left. But we found the swarm on a nearby sunflower plant the next morning. Got another box ready with a screen bottom board , a feeder and a vented top. These are very gentle bees. We shook the hive into the box and placed a cover and waited for the bees to calm down. There are quite a few bees in the air. All the in flight bee quickly grouped on the box so we opened it just enough to let everyone in. Then I found a leaf with a clump of bees so I cut it and placed on the top bars. It may have been were the queen was or maybe the queen herself. Now just waiting for them to all get inside to be confined for 48 hr. before we reopen Maybe this time they will stay.
