Surviving At A Off-Grid Cabin!
I made another trip to the off-grid cabin to check on it after a windstorm last week. I'm always worried about a tree falling and landing on the cabin. When I arrived, all was well, except I noticed that jerk wad had been snooping around again. I packed very light this trip because I planned on bringing some items home with me, such as my books. I brought out some bannock dough with me and planned on using up some of my pantry items as winter is hopefully coming to an end. I was originally going to spend two nights, but a snowfall warning was issued on my second day there. I figured I'd get out of there before the snowstorm Hit and possibly getting stranded. It turned out we didn't get as much snowfall as predicted anyway. I hope to make it back to the cabin a couple more times before summer. The visit serves as a final winter trip to utilize remaining pantry items (0:46) and bring home stored books (3:25). Key Highlights: Wildlife Concerns: The creator suspects a small animal, likely a shrew, got into the cabin and chewed on a tinder bag (0:38). They also found their saw oil empty and abandoned far from the cabin (3:39-3:54, 12:37). Cozy Cabin Life: Despite a faulty can opener (0:56), the creator enjoys cooking bannock and soup on the wood stove (1:06, 14:34). They also discuss a homemade mattress made from a memory foam mattress cut in half (16:15-17:10). Winter Preparedness: While cutting firewood on a steep, icy hill (9:37), the creator decides to stop for the season until the ice melts (9:50). Due to a snowfall warning, they decide to end the trip early to avoid getting stranded (14:50-15:10).
