Surprisingly I had never seen/read the Hunger Games until about a month ago when I suddenly had the urge to give it a try. I devoured the books and immediately watched through the movies, suffice to say - and I knows it's been said before - this series is brilliant. I adore it. But of course, I'm not me if I'm not immediately focused on the love story, and holy sh*t these two. THESE TWO Y'ALL. I can honestly say I've never seen a romance play out this way in a story, it's so natural and nuanced and I really love that. And it's heartbreaking how rare it is to see a male love interest who's just so kind, and sweet and good and that's exactly what Peeta is. I could write an entire essay about my feelings on this video, but to summarize I've always really connected with this song and it hit me how much it works for them. The thing I really enjoyed most about their dynamic is how they don't demand anything from each other, especially Peeta despite being in love with her. They're just always there for each other regardless of the outcome. So while all the lyrics fit them perfectly - in my humble opinion - the one that I think really summarizes it is the chorus: "all that you ever wanted from me was sweet nothing." In true love, you don't demand anything in exchange for loving someone, and that's what these two did. That's why they survived and were able to have their own type of happy ending.
