Swing Dancing Steals

This week was all about Steals! If you've ever seen a birthday jam and wondered how you can be part of it, this was the class for you. First we talked about some important safety and etiquette tips: 1. Always make sure you know who is being celebrated - don't boot out the birthday person! If you see it go wrong then try to help fix it. 2. Make sure it's safe - timing is crucial to ensure no-one gets tripped or injured. You need to be clear for a good steal, but never make it rough or dangerous. 3. Don't steal someone's partner mid-dance unless it's a birthday jam or you're certain that it is welcome... never leave someone without a partner in the middle of the dance floor! 4. Watch and gauge the situation before you jump in. Don't assume that the person standing out of the steals wants you to take them away and make them dance with you - they're probably just looking for an opening to jump back into the steals jam. 5. Have fun! Steals can be a bit chaotic and you never know what to expect, but that's part of the fun!
