This.video shows a typical switchboard upgrade we do on a daily basis. The client had an old is set up with circuit breakers and a couple of safety switches. The old setup meant that if they had a fault on just one circuit they would lose multiple circuits due to the main safety switch tripping. The upgrade to the new Hager safety switch circuit breakers insures that now during fault conditions the client will only lose power to a single circuit making it easier for them to find the appliance or issue that has caused the trip.
We removed all existing circuit protection including the main switch, bus cabling,, circuit breakers and safety switches. We supplied a new main switch rated correctly to the main size, individual Hager safety switch circuit breakers to each circuit, installed a bus bar to feed power to the safety switch circuit breakers and finally relabelled switchboard to suit the new layout.
Testing the new safety switches is now easy by pushing the individual test button on each safety switch and then resetting it.
