Symphony No. 6
This is my arrangement of Tchaikovsky's Symphony No. 6 "Pathetique" for a large brass ensemble or a double brass quintet. Instead of two trombones, I used two euphoniums. This arrangement stemmed from a previous project of the same source material, made for the drum corps medium. Of course, edits were needed to make sure it was appropriate for a chamber music setting, but alas there are still some drum corps-esque moments. The piece is split up into 4 recognizable sections. The allegro theme from Movement 1, the waltz from Movement 2, the famous love theme from Movement 1, and finally the low brass chorale from Movement 4. There are also bits and pieces of Movement 3 scattered throughout. This is dedicated to my many friends in the brass studio at SDSU. Every part has a little something for them.
