This is an introductory series into Synfig. The version used in this video is 1.4. Synfig is an opensource 2D animation software with many powerful tools and features. It's still being developed but with each update, it gets better and better.
This is a basic tutorial on the Graph Editor, but you can alter the z Depth values on the graph as well.
