In this video, I go through the synthesis of N-phenylmaleimide which is a very effective reagent used in many Diels-Alder reactions. This work is based on the literature from 1961, an Organic Syntheses procedure by Cava et al. It is assumed that anyone attempting this reaction has appropriate training in chemistry.
