Systems & Systems Engineering—Managing Complexity

A series of videos about systems and systems engineering—"the art or science of creating systems," where a system is "a complex whole, an organized body of material or immaterial things…" Complexity can be problematic - decomposition/reduction has the potential to proliferate the numbers and varieties of parts, such that it is all too easy to be overwhelmed. It was largely to overcome this problem - which engineers, in particular, may face - that systems engineering (SE) was introduced. Pyramid builders had their ways of handling complexity; modern SE came into being with the same objective... notably with NASA’s Apollo and the ISS
