This video shows how I used tablet weaving with brass and copper wire to produce a rain chain with tablet-woven funnel cups, my contribution to a collaborative piece for Art in the Pearl 2006 in Portland, Oregon. You will see the steps involved in making a continuous warp, weaving double-faced bands, shaping the bands into the funnel cups, and assembling the rain chain.
Metalsmith Rebecca Melton made a hammered brass basin. Greg Wilbur provided a hammered copper ladle, and visitors were invited to dip water from the basin and pour it into the cups.
