Take Five (violin lesson)

Take five is an instrumental in 5/4 time by Paul Desmond, and recorded with Dave Brubeck. In this violin lesson I show the intro, with suggestions for bowing, double stops and the addition of chopping. I then look at the basic melody, with particular attention to bowing. Then I offer ideas for soloing on the A and B sections, with different options for which scale to use, and how to choose rhythmic phrases to fit in the 5/4 groove.
