Take Your First Steps with Data Driven Documents (D3.js)
If you've seen bespoke or unusual data-visualisations on the web there's a good chance they were made with d3.js. This session is a hands-on introduction to d3. In it you'll learn: • What d3 is, and what it's not • Capabilities of the library • How to use 'data-bindings' to power your visualisations • How to manipulate SVG elements to represent your data • Where to go next D3.js is a JavaScript library, and is intended for use on the web. A basic knowledge of JavaScript, SVG (Scalable Vector Graphics), and HTML will help you get the most out of this session. This is a member-led, Data Lab Community event.
