Blowing 30kts down from the Coromandel ranges. I didn't fancy having the crap beaten out of us on our return to Ardmore. So I took off of R23 and circled up to 6000ft above Pauanui (NZUN) out of the bumps before transiting the Coromandel ranges to the West.
