Robin J. Brooks was the chief economist at the Institute for International Finance, and before that did foreign exchange at Goldman Sachs. He’s now at Brookings, and has been doing extremely interesting work on the unfolding oil crisis — often reaching conclusions that differ with mine in enlightening ways. So we talked Thursday, hoping that our conversation wouldn’t be overtaken by events.
