The Tamil News Topic Classifier is a web-based Natural Language Processing (NLP) application that automatically classifies news headlines written in Tamil, English, or Tanglish (a mix of both) into predefined topic categories. The key highlight of this project is that it requires zero training data — it uses a pre-trained model and zero-shot classification technique to understand and categorize text it has never explicitly been trained on.
