Tamiya | Putty -Basic Type- Texturing Tutorial | #askHearns
Exclusive Preview for Newsletter Subscribers 16 November 2021 BJ demonstrates how to use Tamiya Basic Putty to add textures to the surfaces of your models. Just use lacquer thinner to thin the putty to your desired consistency. Tamiya Basic Putty dries quickly, offering a gritty finish which is perfectly suited to texturing. Used neat from the tube, the putty gives tall peaks when stippled with a stiff , coarse brush. The finish progressively becomes smoother as the putty is thinned with more lacquer thinner. This technique can also be used with water based putties by thinning with water or acrylic paint thinners. Very thin putty can be used as a coarse primer that is easily hand brushed to cover imperfections.
