Tape Loop Echoes | OP1 field + Morphagene

Sonic exploration with Morphagene as a delay module. Morphagene in a single repeat configuration with live input from OP1 is an amazing combination! Here, I record a small loop and then watch it transform as I modulate Morphagene’s Gene size and the tape speed. The beauty is in the modulation. With precisely set bounds for the control signals you can get quite wonderful results like sudden octave shifts. I’ve used three main control signals which modulate the filter cut off for Ikarie and above mentioned params for Morphagene. (See @loopop video on Morphagene for more info) Control Signals: - Control signal 1: Morphagene Gene Size - Controls the playback length of a sub-section of the recording on tape - Pam output 1 (square wave) triggers Maths - Maths output 1 modulates Morphagene’s Gene Size (visualized in Scope 1) - Control signal 2: Morphagene Varispeed - Controls the playback speed of the tape such that the tape speed is doubled causing an octave shift. - Pam output 2 (square wave) triggers Disting Mk4 (B-2 Slew rate limiter mode) - Disting’s slew limited output modulates Morphagene’s Varispeed param - Control Signal 3: Ikarie filter cutoff - Controls the cutoff frequency of the filter - Pam output 7 (sine wave) controls combined rise+fall frequency of Maths output 4 - Maths Output 4 goes to VCA input - Pam output 8 goes to VCA as control voltage. - VCA output goes to Ikarie filter as MOD input.
