Tape Loop

This tune was a super fun exercise in DAW-less looping. Cole had been wanting to make a tape loop by physically cutting and splicing together 2 bars of a drumbeat I performed. After he made the loop, I added guitars, bass, and synths. Cole even synced up a drum machine with the loop, which took a few attempts to get locked in due to time phasing. After we filled up 8 tracks, Cole did a console mix by adjusting the faders in real time and doing delay throws to the SpaceEcho. He also changed the tape speed midway thru. The only time it touched the computer was for mastering.
