April 30th patch claimed to improve spawns, I'm not so sure. Maybe players are just learning that camping the spawns is the best way to play. Without changing the playable areas, spawns locations or player count it probably isn't going to get much better.
Right not it reminds me of the movie Looper because there's so much spawn killing.
