Kainoa and I fell in love with this mele when we met and watched the ladies of Na Lei o Kaholoku perform this hula in Tahiti a few years ago. I was thrilled to see that Mailani had recorded it on her debut solo album and even more thrilled when I found out who the composer was.... Kawaikapuokalani Hewett!!! Uiha! I should have known!!! LOL
