Teaching Phonics: Special Combinations
Teaching Phonics: Special Combinations In a series of five videos for teachers of English as a foreign language learners, I am introducing a child-centered approach to learning phonics that enables children to learn phonics quickly and deeply, and prepares children to move beyond phonics. The child-centered approach I am suggesting in these videos emphasizes the development of Childrenโs skill in using phonics actively to make guesses when reading, writing, pronouncing words and discriminating sounds. This is the fourth video in the series. It has become common for foreign language learners to learn phonics using methods that were originally designed for native speakers of English, who, in some key respects, have fundamentally different needs. This series of videos focuses on teaching techniques that are firmly rooted in the needs of foreign language learners, especially children who don't have enough natural exposure to English. I would like to give a big thank you to Adam Kardos for doing the voiceover. ๐ธ๐ธ๐ธ๐ธ๐ธ๐ธ๐ธ๐ธ๐ธ๐ธ 00:00 Start 01:08 Phonics families 03:38 Magic e 05:28 Effective phonics 06:27 Three steps to phonics Facebook Group (Teaching English Around the World) https://www.facebook.com/groups/englishteacherssupport ๐น Facebook page (Language Teaching Professionals ) https://www.facebook.com/LanguageTeachingProfessionals/ ๐น Bluesky @davidpaul30.bsky.social ๐น X @LTProfessionals ๐น Linkedin Group (Teaching English Around the World) https://www.linkedin.com/groups/3813546/ ๐ธ๐ธ๐ธ๐ธ๐ธ๐ธ๐ธ๐ธ๐ธ๐ธ ๐ง Adam Kardos links: ๐น AAS Press https://aaspress.com/
