TEKKEN - Modern Tekken vs Traditonal Tekken Explained
Basic Breakdown: Modern: Has some form of (typically) single input, forward movement that covers a significant distance (range 3 or further) and incorporates a built in mix up.... Has a quick poke/move (13~16f), with follow up or stance transition for 50/50 mix, often strong counter-hits included with follow up. Traditional Style: Characters must use basic games mechanics to assert their "intended" gameplan. Stance transitions are often locked behind negative frame on block moves with no follow up coverage or tend to be locked behind moves with slower start ups. These characters also may have access to some major 50/50s but are not typically readily accessible.
