Tempted

[Verse 1] Before His ministry began, He fasted forty days, Alone within the wilderness, Worn down in every way. His body weak with hunger, Yet His spirit did not bend, The tempter came to test Him, Hoping He would break and sin. [Pre-Chorus] But Jesus never gave in to temptation, Not once in all His days, Not in hunger, not in suffering, Not when death was on its way. [Chorus] Everyone will face temptation, No one lives a perfect life, That place was held by Christ alone, Who stood in truth and light. And though we fall in many moments, We are not left where we fall, We can rise again with confidence, Because He overcame it all. [Verse 2] “Turn these stones to bread,” he told Him, “Feed Yourself, relieve the pain,” But man does not live by bread alone, So He refused the gain. When our needs are left unmet, And the pressure starts to rise, Do we stand upon what’s righteous, Or give in to compromise? [Verse 3] “Cast Yourself down,” the tempter said, “Let angels prove Your claim,” But faith is not demanding signs, Nor testing God in vain. When life becomes uncertain, And doubt begins to grow, Do we trust without conditions, Or demand that God must show? [Verse 4] “All the kingdoms of this world Can be yours if you will bow,” But worship belongs to God alone, Then and only now. When wealth and fame are offered, With an easier, wider road, Do we trade our soul for comfort, Or walk the narrow road? [Chorus] Everyone will face temptation, No one lives a perfect life, That place was held by Christ alone, Who stood in truth and light. And though we fall in many moments, We are not left where we fall, We can rise again with confidence, Because He overcame it all. [Bridge] Temptation comes to every soul, No one leaves this life untouched, But victory was shown through Him, So we are not overcome as such. The battle’s real, the struggle’s near, But we are not alone, The path was walked before our feet, The victory has been shown. [Outro] So choose this day the path you walk, When temptation calls your name, Stand firm in what is right and true, And do not bow to shame. For even when you stumble, You are not defeated still, Rise again through Christ who proved That we can choose His will.
