Test Ozone Rush 5

I tried the glider in two flights: in the first one I got to know the glider, in the second one I did a small competition against some Zenos flown by my friends. The best characteristics of the Rush is the “automatic pilot” in the thermal, you only need a small pilot’s input and the glider will bring you quickly to cloud base. The speed is usable in all the range, and the glide ratio is not much worst at high speed. For this reason, using a lot the speed, you can increment the performance drastically. I did some not completely serious tests against the Zenos: at top speed, flying against the wind, neither speed nor glide ratio can be compared. But apart from that, including glide ratio at top speed with no wind, I had good surprises, not much difference. A great intermediate glider, easy to use at 100% of its range. Ho provato la vela in due voli, nel primo ci siamo conosciuti, nel secondo l’ho presentata agli amici in una garetta con gli Zeno facendo molte prove. La migliore caratteristica del Rush è il pilota automatico in termica, basta un minimo di pilotaggio che la vela ti accompagna velocemente a base. La speed è utilizzabile in tutto il range, la polare non peggiora molto alle alte velocità. Per questo motivo, usando molto la speed, si riescono ad incrementare notevolmente le prestazioni. Ho fatto delle prove non serie ma molto “scientifiche” con degli Zeno. La velocità massima non è paragonabile nè l’efficienza a speed controvento. Per tutto il resto, comprese le efficienze alle alte velocità in assenza di vento, ho avuto delle belle sorprese, poca differenza. Un grande intermedio, facile e sfruttabile al 100%.
