Test Train in Twilight
An eastbound Amtrak train speeds past Agency, Iowa after sunset on July 21, 2019. This isn't a normal Amtrak train. This is a test train made of four locomotives and several single-level cars some not usually seen west of Chicago. The engines include the Phase II anniversary unit AMTK 130 second out. It's followed by a pair of Chargers. The purpose of this train is to test Positive Train Control (PTC) on a train with a profile near that of a long-distance train. I didn't get a lot of warning that this train was close, hence why I'm not close to the track.
