“Testing Drivers and MCALs for Embedded Systems” with Thomas Schütz from PROTOS Software GmbH. 🚀
Drivers and MCALs (Microcontroller Abstraction Layer, e.g. for AUTOSAR) are often tested too late – or not at all – which can cause serious issues in safety-critical projects. In this session, you’ll learn a method to automatically test hardware abstraction layers early in development. With a lightweight hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) approach, drivers can be tested directly at the microcontroller’s pins on signal level.
This improves robustness and enables qualification for safety-relevant systems (e.g. MCAL for ASIL C/D or other SIL standards). The webinar closes with a live demo using the miniHIL and its software to show the methods and implementations in action.
