Communicative Language Testing (CLT) aims primarily to measure the abilities to communicate in the real-life situation in the target language. It measures integrated skills as opposed to the mastery of discrete language elements. It starts by mapping out the Target Language Use of the test-takers, and then creating tasks that simulate the real-life situations that the test takers have to do.
