Testing New Tool Height Setter Subroutine in LinuxCNC

In this video, I demonstrate a new subroutine in LinuxCNC for tool height setting with a tool height setter. This subroutine overrides the M6 command when a tool is changed, moving the endmill to the tool height setter to remeasure its height. While the subroutine is not yet reliable, I have added a second switch to the tool height setter to trigger an emergency stop if the endmill travels past its maximum travel distance. #LinuxCNC #toolheightsetter #subroutine #endmill #machining #manufacturing #CNCmachining
