Textblob is a great introduction to do simple NLP interactions on blocks of text. Don't let the logo fool you into thinking it's fractal - it's actually about breaking down the text into its component parts, and it's super easy to use, using hidden machine learning and natural language processing.
It allows you in python, to break the text down into sentences, and then look at the sentiment behind them, as well as identify different parts of the structure such as the tags, the nouns etc to be able to programmatically tell what a document is about. As a library, its easy to interact with and is very easy for any new programmer to get to grips with.
